Now I'm numb

I had an interview today. A fifteen minute interview that I travelled 45mins for. I'm not bothered by that - I like the route.
I had a phone call today. About an hour after I got in from the interview.
The company wants me to go for a second interview tomorrow.

So last night Chinese guy (housemate who is [surprise!] Chinese) decided he would like some toast as (I guess) it was far toooooo hot to sleep. So he does what one does when one wants toast - put bread in the toaster.

Lo and behold, he blew the fuse as the toaster was positively ancient. He wasn't to know that once a month it likes to blow things up. And he can't read English to know which fuse was supposed to be flicked where on the fuse box. So he went to bed thinking that only the kitchen plugs were blow as the freezer and fridge aren't run of the kitchen circuit. Now, in a modernised house with modern electricity, that would be a safe assumption. Some MORON who rewired the house decided to link ALL the plugs together. Meaning that if I wasn't too hot and decided to look at my electric clock for the time to check how long I'd been staring at the ceiling trying to sleep and Steve hadn't turned his telly on, we might have lost all the food.

We're laughing now. But I told Chinese-guy's daughter who speaks English that Toaster = totally FUCKED UP and to tell her Dad to be careful with it before deciding Tesco sell toasters for £4.47 which is a price I very much like. A lot. it's cheap. And comes with a year's guarentee. Which means (as toast is pretty popular in our household and the poor toaster gets used like 4-5 times a day) if it totally FUCKS UP within the next 12 months, I can take it back to Tesco and go "OI! GIMME NON FUCKED UP TOASTER NOW !"

As it is now, I'm totally exhausted having spent from 12-2 last night awake (yes it took me and Steve like 30mins cause we were tired and sleepy to figure out that while toaster is still plugged in, the power wont come back on. Thinking of taking a hammer to the old toaster now.) and I was awake at 8 as I couldn't sleep anymore.

So I make a comment around breakfast time to my housemate that the kitchen is messy. I make the comment instead of telling him to clean as he goes on a hissy fit (he thinks cleaning once every month constitutes as "I so DO clean the house!"). He agrees and I happily leave him with kitchen spray in one hand and cleaning rag in the other.

I go out, do my business, come back and guess what? He's only done the surfaces and not even properly. So I don my apron and commence a full clean. He comes in, sees me cleaning and tells me he's done it. I'm like "I love you. I really do. But if you're not gonna clean properly PLEASE don't do it at all!"

He then proceeds to storm out.


On the plus side, I've done a favour for a computer illiterate other housemate. I typed some documents up for him and he's gonna pay me. I dunno how much. I would say "Don't bother paying me" but until I get a job, I sorta desperately need money.

Also, my boyfriend's coming up today and I really dont feel like seeing him. Oh well. It'll make a change and he'll get us some pizza or a burger probably.

I'm starting a diet with my friend  hallanole on Monday, so this'll be the last pizza/burger until we reach our target weight. I'm looking to lose 30-50 pounds. So yeah. Wish me luck!
